The March workshop will be led by Dana and Davida based upon exercises in the book Plaster Studio; Mixed Media Techniques for Painting, Casting & Sculpting by Stephanie Lee & Judy Wise.
Fascinated by the images and information in the book, Dana and Davida have spent weekends discovering the joys of transforming joint compound into mixed media art projects and wish to share their knowledge with guild members.
Each student will receive two 12x12 boards prepared with joint compound. The soft compound will serve as an art medium to be manipulated using paint, sculpting techniques and tools.
Supplies to alter the compound will be furnished but it is
suggested that students, with a vision in mind, bring their own stencils, paint
and carving tools.
